We recognise that having a pet can be very therapeutic to residents, however there will be certain accommodation within our support portfolio that pets will not be allowed.    This could be relating to the needs of other residents within the accommodation.

A Pet as a tame animal and are usually animals such as a tanked fish, caged bird/s, a dog, or a cat.    Depending on whether you live in our supported accommodation or in our general needs housing will depend on whether you are able to have a pet within your accommodation.

Animals which will be prohibited are:

• Dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs act can be found here  Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (legislation.gov.uk)
• Dangerous Wild Animals Act Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976 (legislation.gov.uk)
• Any endangered species
• Livestock (including poultry, horses and cattle)
• Any hybrid between a domestic and a wild animal
• Bees
• Guard dogs

Please note that if do not apply for permission to have a Pet, then you may be in breach of your tenancy/licence agreement.
