Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) across its services, ensuring that staff, residents, and participants experience fairness, respect, and equal opportunities. The group’s three-year EDI strategy (2022-2025) was developed in response to systemic social inequalities and aims to remove barriers that hinder inclusion.

We actively work towards positive social change by embedding EDI principles into its core operations. We acknowledge that individuals accessing our services often face multiple forms of exclusion due to personal and societal prejudices. Therefore, we prioritise creating a supportive and inclusive environment, free from discrimination, harassment, or bullying.

Key commitments include:

  • Providing tailored services that meet the diverse needs of residents
  • Fostering a diverse workforce that reflects the communities served
  • Creating fair and inclusive workplaces where respect and equity guide decision-making

We fully align with the Equality Act 2010, ensuring compliance in employment and service provision. We take proactive measures to eliminate discrimination and promote equitable opportunities, particularly for individuals with protected characteristics, such as age, disability, gender identity, race, religion, and sexual orientation. Additionally, SIG extends support to neurodivergent individuals and those experiencing menopause, acknowledging barriers beyond legislative protections.

To achieve these objectives, we engage in staff training, policy development, and partnerships with external partners, influencing systemic improvements in housing, social care, employment, and health services. Our group also conduct regular audits and consultations to assess and enhance our EDI efforts.

Through these initiatives, we strive to create a fair and inclusive housing environment, ensuring all residents and staff receive equitable access to quality housing, employment and personal development opportunities.
